INSTRUCTIONS:

To install RUNES to any drive or directory on your system run INSTALL.EXE. When prompted
type in the path to where you wish RUNES to be installed. All the files will then be copied into a directory named RUNES where you specify.

To start RUNES from DOS: change to the RUNES directory and run RUNES.BAT.

To start RUNES from WINDOWS 3.1: From the FILE menu select RUN and use the browse option to locate the RUNES directory and select RUNES.BAT. Select OKAY.

To start RUNES from WINDOWS 95: open the RUNES folder and double-click on RUNES.BAT.



OPERATING THE PROGRAM:

MAIN MENU SCREEN:
Select an interpretation method using the scroll selector. (The left and right rolls change the current selection) Set up any options you wish to change.
AUTO-REPLACE means that after you select a Rune stone it is automatically replaced in the set.
AUTO-RESHUFFLE causes the Rune Stones to automatically be reshuffled between selections.
FACE-UP SELECTION allows you to use real Rune stones and match the stones entered into the
interpreter with what you have achieved in real life, thus allowing the program to interpret from real stones. When everything is ready, press the INTERPRET button (the Rune stone out on its own) or if you prefer you may double click on the centre of the scroll.

SELECTION SCREEN:
Concentrate on the issue on which you wish the interpretation to be based and then using random
mouse buttons select stone(s) from the grid. Once enough have been selected the program will
take you automatically to the interpretation stage.

INTERPRETATION SCREEN:
At this point, clicking on each individual stone will provide you with the interpretation that
matches that stone's Rune and position.


EXTRA CONTROLS:
---------------
'H' - Toggle flyover help messages on and off
'S' - Turn summary mode on and off (summary mode can be useful for decision making)
'I' - Toggle inversion mode on and off (when inversion mode is off, all Runes remain upright)
'M' - Toggle Lefthanded/Righthanded mouse pointer (buttons remain unchanged)
